SAP Functional Lead (Supply Chain & Plant Maintenance)

Synopsis

The SAP Functional Lead (Supply Chain & Plant Maintenance) will have deep expertise in SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), Materials Management (MM), and S/4HANA. The focus will be on Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) initiatives (possibly including SAP Service Management (SM) and SAP Project System (PS), with responsibilities spanning greenfield implementations, carve-outs, and ongoing system optimizations. In this role, you will also utilize Signavio (or similar tools) to model business processes, facilitate gap analyses, and blueprint new or improved solutions. As a SAP Functional Lead (Supply Chain, Asset & Plant Maintenance Management), you will collaborate with supply chain, procurement, maintenance, and IT teams to deliver end-to-end solutions—ensuring seamless integration with other SAP modules and third-party systems while driving operational excellence.
Accountabilities

•    Lead and support full life cycle implementations (including greenfield projects) of SAP Material Management, Plant Maintenance, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), and optionallyas well as potential involvement in  Service Management (SM) andor Project System (PS) in an S/4HANA environment, translating business needs into functional specifications and solution designs.
•    Conduct business workshops, gather requirements, and perform gap analyses using Signavio or similar platforms to model and optimize maintenance processes.
•    Manage or support carve-out projects involving SAP landscapes for divestitures or integration of newly acquired entities. Develop strategies for data migration, configuration consolidation and system cutover to minimize risk and downtime.
•    Configure, customize, and integrate SAP MM (material master, procurement, inventory management) with SAP PM/EAM in S/4HANA.
•    Troubleshoot cross-module issues (e.g., SAP FICO, SAP WM, SAP CRM) and ensure seamless workflows across the organization.
•    Liaise with business stakeholders, vendors, project management, and technical teams to ensure alignment of project scope, timelines and deliverables.
•    Oversee engagement risk, project economics (planning, budgeting) and status reporting to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
•    Coordinate SAP system upgrades, patch management, and performance tuning for PM and MM in S/4HANA.
•    Develop and maintain training materials, user documentation, and knowledge-transfer resources for PM/EAM/SM/PS.
•    Provide ad-hoc support and post-go-live consultation to ensure stable operations and effective user adoption.
Education & Experience

•    Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
•    Master’s degree or SAP Certifications in Plant Maintenance (PM), EAM, or S/4HANA is a plus.
•    8+ years of hands-on SAP MM and PM configuration, testing, and support (ECC or S/4HANA).
•    Minimum of 2 3 full-cycle greenfield or brownfield SAP implementations (including at least one greenfield).
•    Proven track record of carve-out or M&A projects, managing or integrating newly acquired entities into SAP MM, PM/EAM.
•    Experience with SAP S/4HANA procurement, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier management and invoice processing.
•    Experience with integrating asset tagging solutions (e.g. RFID, barcode or IoT based tracking) within SAP PM/EAM, ensuring seamless asset lifecycle management and compliance.
•    Signavio (or similar BPM tool) experience for business process modelling, blueprinting and continuous improvement.
•    Strong knowledge of SAP MM and its integration with PM/EAM, covering procurement, inventory and material master processes.
•    Knowledge of SAP Ariba and its integration with procurement processes in SAP MM is desirable
•    Familiarity with SAP SM (Service Management) and SAP PS (Project System) is highly desirable.
•    Experience working with SAP FICO, CRM, WM, or other relevant modules, plus third-party integration tools.
