Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and efficient Demi Chef de Partie-Butcher to join our culinary team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for the preparation and butchery of various meats, ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety.
Prepare and portion various types of meat according to menu specifications and chef's instructions
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
Operate and maintain butchery equipment, including knives, saws, and grinders
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of meat dishes
Assist in inventory management and ordering of meat products
Implement proper storage and rotation of meat products to minimize waste
Contribute to menu development by suggesting new meat preparations or cuts
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in butchery techniques and meat preparation
Ensure compliance with halal meat preparation standards
Adapt to changing needs and assist in other kitchen areas as required
Qualifications
Proven experience (2-3 years minimum) as a butcher or Demi Chef de Partie in a professional kitchen setting
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various butchery techniques
Strong knowledge of different meat cuts, preparation methods, and portion control
Understanding of food safety principles and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
Culinary degree or diploma preferred
Current food safety certification required
Knowledge of halal meat preparation practices
Familiarity with local Saudi cuisine and meat preferences is a plus
Ability to work in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and adapt to the local work environment
